This project transcends the culinary act to examine food as a lens for understanding social dynamics and migration. Through photography, fieldwork, and data collection, the work compiles a “map” of Latin American ingredients in the form of postcards. The primary objective is to utilize food as a strategic tool to combat exclusion, strengthen cultural identities, and foster a sense of belonging for immigrants.

A key finding of the research highlights a disconnect in the global supply chain: despite their specific cultural roots, many “Latin American” ingredients available in Germany are actually imported from non-Latin American countries. This discovery prompts a critical reflection on consumer awareness, revealing how little is known about the complex logistical systems behind the products we consume daily.
